March is always an iffy month for a downtown Charleston wedding.
You never what you’re going to get from the weather. Chris and Carly lucked out with a gorgeous day that was warm and sunny, PERFECT for our planned downtown Charleston wedding portraits. This couple kept us laughing the entire day, joking around with each other and having fun no matter what we were doing. This day was even more perfect for us as Charleston photographers since they scheduled their day around having plenty of time for their photography (super smart planning!). Even though their wedding actually took place all the way in Pinopolis, we were able to do portraits with them in North Charleston, downtown Charleston, including Dock Street Theatre, Magnolia Plantation, and then again at their venue: Somerset Point!
Having a schedule this open really allows us to create some incredible artwork for our clients. In turn, this gives them so much variety from which to choose. Speaking of artwork, it is hard to imagine a more photogenic couple! Carly’s hair was about as gorgeous as we could ever dream up. Also, we couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect dress for her. Chris, though goofy and fun to be around, can put on a serious face for the camera in a matter of seconds. They were game for any and every idea we had the entire day. Any downtown Charleston wedding needs a couple willing to go the extra mile for their photographs and they didn’t disappoint!
The ceremony was emotional and perfect, with many tears and laughter. Then the reception at Somerset Point was fun and entertaining all night long. We were even able to sneak outside for a sunset shot before it got too late. They ended the night with a lively sparkler exit, which is always a great way to end our coverage. Best of luck, Chris and Carly – thanks for having us along to document this most beautiful day!
