Charleston bridal photographer | The Nuvo Bridal Session Experience
What better place in the world to capture your bridal portraits than gorgeous Charleston, South Carolina! As a longtime Charleston bridal photographer, this is one of our most loved types of sessions to capture!
Scheduling the Session Date
Scheduling your session often depends on your wedding date. Many brides will choose a month based on the season and corresponding blooming flowers or even outdoor temperature. If you are looking for variety in your photos, we would suggest choosing a different season from your wedding date so we can do something different than wedding day!
Scheduling the time of your session is a big part of making sure your bridal photographs turn out perfectly! We strongly suggest starting your session about 2 hours before sunset time to give us optimum lighting conditions. Starting later in the day is also better in the warmer months, since Charleston bridal sessions in the summer can get hot!
Picking Your Location
There are many great settings for bridal photos in Charleston! We suggest choosing a location that is special to you or one that is true to your personality. For example, if you are a classic bride who loves being outdoors, then Santee Canal Park would be ideal. If you love a traditional southern look, Boone Hall Plantation would be a great choice. If you are a more fashionable type of bride, then downtown Charleston might be perfect. Some of our favorite locations for bridal sessions include Magnolia Plantation, Middleton Plantation, Santee Canal Park, Folly Beach, Azalea Park, Mepkin Abbey, Boone Hall Plantation, downtown Charleston, Charlestown Landing among many others. If you are undecided, let our experience as a Charleston bridal photographer guide you towards the perfect setting for you!
Hair & Makeup
Many brides choose to have their hair and makeup professionally done for their bridal session. This is a great time for your trial run for wedding day anyway! More dramatic makeup shows up for the camera much better than less! For your hair, we only suggest that you bring along a little mirror and brush/hairspray to make any tweaks especially if its a windy day! 🙂
In Case of Rain
If the weather isn’t cooperating on the day of your session, its no problem at all! We will reschedule to a different day and hope the weather gets the memo next time around!
Keeping your Dress Clean
During your bridal session, we will take great care of your dress to make sure that it stays in pristine condition. Every scene that we shoot, we will make sure that there is a sheet between your dress and the ground that we tuck underneath so it won’t show for the photographs. We do suggest leaving enough time between the bridal session and wedding day that you would be able to have it cleaned just in case something happens outside our control.
This is the fun part! Our game plan at your session is to make sure your beauty and personality comes across in every single image we take. We will pose dramatic and romantic poses while also including images that are more fun and natural! Our direction for you during your session is purposefully planned to make every image look perfect and for you to almost forget about having your picture taken. We want you to relax, have fun, and trust us to capture the real you!
When your session is complete, we will post your images online in a proofing gallery that you can share. You will be able to view all your proofs, make purchases, and have your images shipped directly to your door. We have prints, albums, and digital files available for purchase, with 20×30 framed portraits being the most popular choice for reception display.
